Jazz at the Vine is a concert series presented by Humboldt Park Friends in collaboration with Milwaukee County Parks , Lakefront Brewery and Beer Capitol. This concert series takes place at Humboldt Park’s stunning beer garden, with a goal of bringing the community together and raising funds to support the park system. With your help, we can continue to host this exciting and vibrant event that showcases the best local jazz musicians while also supporting a vital community resource.

HEIRLOOM
Heirloom is one of Milwaukee’s most innovative and sought-after jazz combinations. Each musician has a deep connection and passion for modern music and draws upon contemporary classical, rock, and indie influences in their compositions. Their original sound captivates audiences through soaring melodies, intriguing rhythms, and magnetic attention to detail. Heirloom performs as a trio, quartet, and quintet with core members Ben Dameron, guitar, and Hannah Johnson, drums.

Garrett Waite Quartet
Garrett Waite graduated with Honors and a Division Achievement Award from Berklee College of music, which he attended with scholarship. He was a finalist in the Wilson Center Guitar Competition (Jazz Division, 2018), and won 1st Place in the NATS singing competition (Classical Division, 2015). In 2022 he was an Artist in Residence at the historic Jazz Estate.

Paul Silbergleit Trio
Guitarist Paul Silbergleit is a longtime mainstay of the area jazz scene who bears the influence of artists such as Grant Green, Jim Hall, and Pat Metheny, and has performed with the likes of Benny Golson, Jack McDuff, Phil Woods, and Melvin Rhyne. His trio brings a unique set of original music, reimagined classic tunes, and off-the-beaten-path gems, all delivered in their distinctively creative, tasty, and swingin’ style. Paul has enjoyed national airplay with his albums Silberglicity, My New Attitude, January and The Hidden Standard, has written jazz guitar instructional materials for Hal Leonard, and currently serves on the faculty of the esteemed Milwaukee Jazz Institute.

Anne Davis Quartet
Anne Davis has been one of the top vocalists in Milwaukee year after year. She’s highly sought after by local venues and regularly appears with some of the most talented musicians in Milwaukee. Her influences include Jeanne Woodall, Nancy Wilson, Dinah Washington, Natalie Cole, and Diana Krall. She sings songs that have stood the test of time and is backed by a great band.

Faculty and Youth Combos
We are excited to highlight and support the young talent coming up the pipeline. We are working with the Milwaukee Jazz Institute, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, that promotes jazz through education and performance, building awareness of this art form’s ability to transform lives and strengthen our community. Several youth combos will be performed for our audience.
Donna Woodall Group
A newly-retired English teacher, Trekkie, dog-lover, and interpreter of song residing in Milwaukee, WI, Donna feels most at home in a comfy sweater listening to her favorite artists on an old-school record player, and singing her heart out. “If pop songwriter Carole King and jazz singer Cassandra Wilson had a baby, they’d produce me,” Donna says. For over 20+ years, she has been on a wonderful musical journey performing with her husband, bassist Ethan Bender.
Performing at several of Milwaukee’s most prestigious events, festivals, and venues- Jazz in the Park, Summerfest, River Rhythms, Tosafest, Lakefront Festival of the Arts, Bay View Jazz Fest, Zoo a la Carte, Middleton Jazz Fest, Madison Jazz Fest, Chill On The Hill, Plymouth Jazz & Blues Crawl, The Sharon Lynn Wilson Center, The Stoughton Opera House, Cedarburg Cultural Arts Center, Shank Hall, Skyline Music Series, Sessions@McPike Park, etc.- Donna has gathered a dedicated following.
