Humboldt Park covers 73 acres in the Bay View neighborhood. Each year, thousands of people take advantage of the beautiful scenery, cultural events, and numerous amenities. The park houses an outdoor music stage, park pavilion, war memorial, rambling trails, picnic areas, and lagoons. An extensive list of events provide visitors with plenty of reasons to enjoy Humboldt Park.

Our Mission
Humboldt Park Friends is a non-profit organization focused on engaging the Bay View neighborhood and greater Milwaukee communities and fostering park stewardship through volunteering, preserving park history, improving park amenities and safety, and sponsoring events and programming for education and enjoyment of Humboldt Park.
Our History
Humboldt Park is one of six parks created when the city of Milwaukee established a Parks Commission in 1890. The park was originally named South Park and opened to the public in 1891. Its original 45 acres were completely fenced in. Extensive park construction occurred in 1893.

Humboldt Park Lagoon Restoration Nets Sweet Water Funding
MILWAUKEE (April 10, 2018) — Humboldt Park’s 125-year-old lagoon will be getting a little makeover beginning later this spring, thanks to the efforts of volunteers and a $4,100 grant from the Southeastern Wisconsin Watersheds Trust (Sweet Water). Humboldt Park Friends (HPF), a nonprofit volunteer group, is one of 14 groups receiving grants from Sweet Water this year.
Humboldt Park Friends’ 18th annual FREE Easter Egg Hunt and Pancake Breakfast Saturday, March 24th, 2018
Humboldt Park Friends and Milwaukee County Parks will host the 18th annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 24th, 2018 in Humboldt Park (3000 South Howell) on the West side of the Pavilion. This free event will feature 5000 eggs and designated areas for each age group, among other exciting enhancements, so hop on over and join in the fun!

If you have a family, like excellent food and service, supporting local businesses and love Humboldt Park, 10% of the proceeds from Kindred’s Sunday Suppers this month go to Humboldt Park Friends. Sunday Suppers served family style, 5-9 pm. Reservations are required at least a day in advance. Children under 8 are free. One child per adult. $24.00 per guest plus tax and gratuity.

Bocce Benefit for Humboldt Park Friends Planned for August 12 at Humboldt Park
Humboldt Park Friends along with sponsors will host Bocce Benefit on Saturday, August 12, 2017 in Humboldt Park (3000 South Howell Avenue) adjacent to the tennis courts. The 16 team tournament begins at 12 noon lasts until 4pm. The benefit includes music, children games, food and beer. While the tournament is sold out, come on out, join the fun and cheer on teams while supporting the park.
Humboldt Park Friends Annual Corn Roast
Humboldt Park Friends is holding its annual corn roast on Tuesday, August 8, 2017. Grilled corn will be ready to eat by 5 pm. The corn roast was launched over twenty years ago by John & Penny Manke; Lurae & Terry Bauer and Ruth Simos, serving as a summer community gathering and fundraiser.
